Production of ball valves in Ukraine

The creation of a faucet as a locking device was caused by the appearance of the first pipeline. Then they were not like today's gate valves , ball valves or gates and were a bronze sleeve with a hole and a handle inserted into the valve body . An important stimulus for the development of pipeline valves was the creation of a steam engine, which required taps and valves that could withstand high pressure and high temperature.
Today, the most popular elements of valves are ball valves , but this was not always the case. Despite all the simplicity and originality of the design of the ball valve, the exact date of its invention is not fixed. The most reliable date is 1971 , when Warren John patented the design of the first ball valve . But at that time there were no materials capable of providing low sliding resistance of the shut-off ball with its complete tightness, and therefore the first ball valve did not immediately gain modern popularity. After the creation of a high-temperature polymer with low frictional properties - fluoroplastic, the problem of achieving the required tightness was solved, and ball valves began to conquer the world market for valves and gained great popularity in the industry due to their small size and lack of flow resistance.
